II) CICD History
CICD was established in September 1996 to provide university students, graduates, and young professionals with opportunities for practical career training abroad. In 1997 CICD was designated by the U.S. Department of State as an official sponsor of the Exchange Visitor Program, authorizing CICD to invite international trainees to the U.S. on the J-1 Visa. Today CICD enables more than 400 qualified international participants to pursue professional training at more than 100 American host companies every year. CICD is committed to a quality training experience for trainees and their host companies alike.
