  Available J-1 Work & Travel Position - Fish Processor

Start:Summer 2010
Dates:Approx. summer dates are from June 15-July 30 (start and end dates can vary by 1-2 weeks)
Minimum Hours: per week
Pay:$8.00
Location:Naknek, AK
Nearest Airport:Anchorage Alaska
Housing:Employer pays for food and housing as long as student completes their work contract.

Summary:
Work hard and save money in Alaska! Students will be receiving, processing, packing and freezing Salmon in a plant located in rural Alaska. With housing and food provided, this is a perfect opportunity for tough students who are interested in an adventure and want to earn good money by working hard.


Notes:
  • Working hours are dependent on fish catches. With big catches, students can work up to 100hr/wk. Hours decrease as fish catches get smaller.
  • Work and living conditions are both cold and uncomfortable and the rural setting allows for minimal contact to people outside of the work site.
  • Work is extremely hard and repetitive.
