Available J-1 Training/Internship Position - Reservations/Operations Intern

Summary:
Company is a small tour operator specialized in river cruises to Europe, Egypt and Asia. The company is staffed by an international team which will help an intern overcome any cultural differences he or she may experience in the beginning. The office atmosphere is described as open and friendly.
Internship Duties and Activities:
- The intern will learn about the programs the company offers and become familiar with specific information about each vessel. The intern will learn how to use the company's reservations system through observation and hands-on usage under the supervision of the reservations manager. The intern will learn how to accept reservations by telephone, email or through the company's online booking system.
- The intern will assist the Operations Manager in compiling passenger lists, bus lists, transfer lists and passport manifests that are required for each sailing date. The intern will learn to communicate with overseas suppliers by email, telephone and fax to help ensure that each voyage is organized to assure a smooth vacation for each traveler.
- The intern will learn about visa requirements for the various destinations offered, how to correctly fill out the respective visa applications, and assist the visa department in applying for the passengers' visas. The intern will learn how to compile the full travel documentation, including vouchers, day-by-day itineraries, travel tips, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:

Undergraduate Student
- Basic MS Office Skills
- Internet research capabilities
- Required Language Skills: A good command of spoken and written English.
- Preferred Language Skills: German, French
