  Available J-1 Training/Internship Position - Electrical Engineering Intern

Start Date:Feb/March 2011
Hours:40 hours/week
Compensation:$800 per month
Location:Carson, CA
Duration:6 - 12 months

Summary:
With over 30 years experience in the manufacturing of precision engineered plastics, this company strives to be a leader in highly engineered injection molded products. This privately-owned company operates a 45,000 square foot engineering/production facility located in Carson, California. Carson is located in the Los Angeles area, making this an excellent internship for candidates interested in exploring southern California during their 6 month internship.

Internship Duties and Activities:
  • Intern will train on refitting injection molding machines with new PLC Fanuc Systems.
  • Intern will learn to rebuild older Machines with new Hydraulic Valves. Intern will learn to program the PLC's to the different functions of the machine.
  • Intern will train with maintenance team on different molding, drying, and cooling machinery.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate Student in the field of: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or Mechatronics.
  • Must know industrial programing.
  • Must have completed an apprenticeship in engineering through the German education system. (i.e. Elektriker or Toolmaker, Maschinenbau, Feinmechaniker). Must have maintained a "C" grade or higher throughout studies.
  • Eager to engage in hands-on learning and likes to get his/her hands dirty.
  • Required Language Skills: Fluency in German. Proficient in English.
