  Available J-1 Trainee/ Internship Position - Hispanic Marketing Intern

Start Date(s): ASAP
Hours: 32+ hours per week
Compensation: unpaid
Location: Seattle, WA, USA
Training Duration: Up to 6 months or longer


Summary:
This Seattle based Marketing firm, a small startup, was founded to help businesses reach the Hispanic segment in the Seattle metropolitan area and beyond. This Organization plans and executes strategic marketing and communications, research, sponsorships and events to help brands such as Plaza Bank, State Farm, AT&T, Clearwire, and Kellogg's.


Training/Internship Objectives:
  • Organizing press clippings, filing, updating database.
  • Learning about the process: Producing timelines and tracking projects
  • Collaborating with copywriting on radio scripts and other advertising.
  • Co-creating or coordinating marketing materials for firm and its clients.
  • Purchasing supplies or running other business-related errands.
  • Joining meetings with media and other vendors.
  • Potential communications with clients, vendors and media related to advertising, public relations and other marketing activities.
  • Other business-related tasks as they arise.
  • Other activities as they relate to intern's individual strengths and abilities.
  • Limited evening/weekend work at events or as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Student with interest and or studies in marketing, communications, advertising, public relations, business, international business or other related area of study.
  • Must be bilingual English/Spanish, possess excellent business communication and creative language skills in Spanish; conversational ability in English will suffice.
  • Writing ability in Spanish is key; copywriting experience helpful; translation experience (English into Spanish) a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Willingness to learn and implement processes related to marketing activities.
  • Ability to prioritize and follow up.
  • Eye for detail essential; eye for good design helpful.
  • Creativity a plus!
